Job Description:

• Source and purchase goods, materials and services as per company requirements.
• Request and compare quotations from suppliers and negotiate the best terms.
• Process purchase orders and follow up on deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices and supplier details.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely supply of goods and services.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excesses.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and budget.
• Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Assist with inventory management and related administrative tasks.
• Any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement or stores (preferred).
• Good knowledge of procurement processes, quotation comparison and supplier management.
• Proven track record in maintaining accurate records and inventory control.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using SAPRO/ ERP systems, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

In October 2024, BConnected initiated the “BEmpowered” programme to enhance employment opportunities for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in collaboration with the GIZ – Vocational Training in Sri Lanka Project. The one-year pilot project adopted a dual approach, focusing on preparing candidates through skills development and placement support, while guiding employers to establish inclusive hiring practices, addressing key gaps in the disability employment landscape in Sri Lanka.

Through this programme, 47 young persons with disabilities were provided with training free of charge, in Soft Skills, Personality Development, functional English and basic IT, to enhance employability skills. The trainees included those with vision impairments, hearing/speech impairments, physical disabilities and little persons. Over 30 trainees have been connected to employment opportunities in the corporate sector.
