Job Description:

• Systems & End-User Support: Manage the MS Windows environment and Office 365 suite; resolve day-to-day ICT issues related to applications, operating systems, and end-user requests.

• Hardware & Inventory: Provide endpoint hardware support, including inventory management, network cable management, warranty claims, minor repairs, and OS/application installations.

• Multimedia & Facilities: Support multimedia equipment (projectors, sound systems, and digital cameras) for large meetings, monitor activities in the data center, and manage the ticketing system for issue tracking and resolution.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in IT infrastructure support.

• Proven ability to manage Windows and O365 environments, resolve day-to-day ICT issues, and handle endpoint hardware, minor repairs, and installations.

• Experience supporting multimedia equipment for large meetings, monitoring data center activities, and managing ticketing systems.

In October 2024, BConnected initiated the “BEmpowered” programme to enhance employment opportunities for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in collaboration with the GIZ – Vocational Training in Sri Lanka Project. The one-year pilot project adopted a dual approach, focusing on preparing candidates through skills development and placement support, while guiding employers to establish inclusive hiring practices, addressing key gaps in the disability employment landscape in Sri Lanka.

Through this programme, 47 young persons with disabilities were provided with training free of charge, in Soft Skills, Personality Development, functional English and basic IT, to enhance employability skills. The trainees included those with vision impairments, hearing/speech impairments, physical disabilities and little persons. Over 30 trainees have been connected to employment opportunities in the corporate sector.
